Baby’s 3rd Birthday
Third birthdays – this is where things really kick up a notch! Your toddler is a little older, a little wiser and a little party animal, so it’s time for a real blow out, albeit one that is suitable for ages 3 and up. By now your toddler should be more than ready for some interactive fun with other kids – maybe it’s time to invite some of his playmates?
Even though they’re older, it’s still good to do things in moderation. This time, though, you have the chance to get a bit more playful with your ideas. We know planning something special for your little ones can be a bit daunting so we’ve compiled the best 3rd birthday suggestions, to help ease those party planning panics.
Get those cheeks puffing and whip out your helium canister as it’s balloon time! You have to be careful with balloons as they can be popped or choked on but, by 3 years old, they should be of an age where it isn’t too much of an issue, so go balloon mad! Why not go the whole hog and have an ‘Up’ theme? Compliment this with brightly coloured streamers and table decorations too.
Now your little one’s turned 3, you can up the ante in regards to the games you play. We don’t mean holding your own version of the Hunger Games in the backyard just to be clear, unless you can find a bow and arrow. Pass the parcel, musical statues and dance competitions are always popular. You could also try your hand at fort-building – perfect for getting toddlers to play and make together.
Children are always crafty little things – usually it’s sneaking an extra biscuit or staying up past their bed time, but sometimes they show their creative side. Your little ones should be big enough to try their hand at baking so why not try something like Corn Flake cakes or Rice Krispie buns? Easy to make, quick and loved by toddlers!
Who doesn’t like party food? Even now we crack open the cheese and onion cocktail sticks, when we need a bit of a boost. At 3, you’ll probably have already started introducing harder foods into their diet and now is a great chance to reinforce this. Foods like sliced carrot, cucumber, apples, grapes and breadsticks are all healthy and tasty, while sandwiches never go out of fashion. Why not make fish finger sandwiches, burgers or chicken nuggets for a special treat? And don’t forget the cake!
