THE THREE-MINUTE MUM FACE by SAMANTHA FLOWERS
The arrival of a first child can spin you round like an old sock in a tumble dryer. Beauty editor (and new mum) Samantha Flowers shares her tips for quick make-up fixes amid the glorious chaos.
‘The best part about being a new mum is putting yourself aside and putting everything into this little person who is developing so quickly and does new things every day because of how you’ve helped,’ says Samantha Flowers (@samflowers199), beauty editor and mum to seven-month old Leo. ‘When he turns round and gives you the biggest smile, it’s better than anything else.’
But amid the joy, life does take a chaotic turn, and in the latest #realparents video, Samantha shares her make-up tips for mums in a hurry.
‘Gone are the days of spending hours at the hairdressers, getting a spray tan or spending 20 minutes doing an eyeliner flick in the morning,’ she says. ‘My beauty routine has to be quick, and it has to last all day. I have about three minutes in the morning.’
One answer is make-up crayons, which, Samantha says, are as simple as ‘colouring-in for the face,’ and can add a little definition to the most sleep-deprived pallor. Just press play to see her full demo.
